What are some good tips pertaining to posting an add in a magazine?

My add is for my fund raising business and it will be amongst numerous other adds in a P.T.O. magazine. It's about a quarter page in size and I want it to stand out amongst the other adds which have a lot of bright colors and seem full of clutter. The target audience is P.T.O. moms and the product brand name I'm advertising is pretty recognizable amongst the target audience. It's also very expensive so please serious answers only.

The product is Zapa Snack pizzas which can be sold as a fundraiser for schools and such.

Contact the Marketing Dept of the company (Zapa Snacks?)  They should have ad's that you can run.  Or else they can give tips of what to communicate in the ad.  Profitability for the fund raising company I would guess.  Service maybe?

The thing for you to do here is test.  Choose 2 ads to run in the same mag.  Code the reply address. (eg dept 101, dept 102)  See which ad pulls more.  Or run the same ad in 2 different mags. Again code the reply adress.  The key to sucessful marketing is to learn which ad and media produces the most profitable results.  Good Luck!
