Im in college and i have to produce a radio show. Its between 10am and noon. I have a basic outline for where i want the show to go. Basicly sports and entertainment but that can become dull at times. What are some suggestions for fun topics, and some ideas of exactly who would be my target audience. Thanks!!!

  1. Surely at that time of day all the bright people will be in work or in class.

Who will be able to listen in apart from the unemployable, the sick and the stupid?

If you need to fill the time in, just play loads of pop records.

  2. Do polls and stuff like that. Like everyday have a different topic and have callers call in and discuss the topics. It can be fun

  3. have people call in and tell you their plans for lunch

  4. I can't disagree with answer #1. Middays have always been a problem. But here's an idea that has stood the test of time. Be consistent. If your station has a "sound," stick to it. Success in radio is based on consistency - not jumble, that just confuses people.

Don't think of it as your show. Tink of those hours as an extension of what the station has already built for that day, that time period. Don't shock listeners. They go to a specific station for what that station traditionally offers. If they haven't already taught you that, it's coming soon - or should be

  5. unusual gadgets is a good subject.
