I'm not much of a traveller, but being half Latina and not knowing much about my Latin roots, I'd love to take a trip down to Mexico sometimes. I know with the poverty, it is not such a nice place to be, and I don't want to go to the touristy places like Cozumel that drunk college kids and newlyweds go for a cheap getaway. I want to go for the historical aspect, maybe see Chichen Nitza, some of the older cities. How about Durango, Guanajuato?

  2. Try Puebla. It's an hour outside of Mexico city and it has a lot of historic buildings and a alot of history!

  3. Well I can suggest you places by region:

    North Mexico:

Start at Chihuahua city , visit Down Town and Quinta Gameros  in Paseo Bolivar then go on a train CHEPE and travel thru Copper Cannyon, stop at Creel  stay there for a while, and take an excursion to cascades, lakes, etc. then the train again go to El Fuerte town  stay a day there and then leave to Mochis and take a ferry to La Paz, a beach resort but not  with a lot of party hard crowd.

Or  you can Visit Zacatecas an old Silver colonial city.

In the center you can visit Guanajuato, San Miguel de Allende, Queretaro, Real de Catorce.

Durig winter you can visit one of the most beautiful natures shows by going to see the winter getaway of millions of Monarch butterflies in the state of Mexico, also visit Valle de Bravo.

You can go to Puebla and also go to Cholula and spend a weekend there,

In the West you can go to Guadalajara and Tlaquepaque Morelia and also visit lake Patzcuaro and tzin tzun tzan

You can go to Colima, Mazamitla, Ajijic, Barra de Navidad beach, Manzanillo beach , those are beautiful places but very quiet,

In the southwest visit, Oaxaca, and Taxco, Huatulco Beach or Puerto Escondido

Chiapas is unique and Stay at San Cristobal de Las Casas, is one of the most beautiful places where you can interact with Native Americans and their culture.

East of Mexico, Visit La Huasteca Potosina, Veracruz, Xalapa and there is rafting in the rivers if you like, there is also Cuetzalan, Tlacotalpan during the celebration  of La Candelaria.

In the South East You can visit the White City of Merida, take the  expreso Maya, and try to visit the coral reef in Cozumel....

    etc, etc, etc,

  4. You may want to go to Cozumel and travel and stay in places like Merida, Tulum.

  5. Wonderful big bubba ! ! !

And that´s less then half of what you can see in beautiful Mexico.

  6. I suggest  very quiet place such The pyramids of Teotihuacan, Aztec Pyramids: Luna y Sol .
