I'm currently a senior getting ready to apply for college. I live in Dallas and would really like staying in the Metroplex? Can you name some good schools in the area? Thanks.

  1. Hi,

University of Dallas has a good reputation and I know someone that loved it there.  He studied physics and is a very sharp man.

I also know people that went to Univ. of Texas at Arlington.  It's an excellent engineering university but everything else is good there as well.  It's just a solid university.

Texas Christian University (TCU) is a good university - if you care to pay way more than other places for a degree that won't get you any more than one from UTA.  I wouldn't go there for that reason but alot of people do.

If you live on the north end of the metroplex, you might consider University of North Texas at Denton.  It's an excellent university, and they are one of the best music schools in the world, particularly for jazz.  I have 2 good friends that went there and they are teachers and liked it and did well.

The beautiful thing is, you can live near or at home, you can study about anything imaginable, and there multiple excellent  and affordable universities to choose from.
