I am looking into getting a used jet ski, something probably under 5,000 and was wondering if there are any relilable used jet skis. So far I have only seen 2-strokes, are there any older jet skis that are 4 stroke? Any brand, or make suggestion would be greatly appreciated!

  1. Yamaha and Kawasakis are pretty good skis and are reliable, depending on how they have been kept.  Also, SeaDoos and Hondas are pretty good.  (Try to stay away from Polaris and Tiger Sharks)

  2. Ok here we go. Sea-Doo starting making their 4-tec GTX in 2002. Good, stable, able to tow, 155 HP. Probably around $4-$5 K for this machine. Honda also started around then with their Aquatrax. Also good, stable and tows easily. Yamaha also has a very trusted 4 stroke in their VX line-up. The seats are too wide for comfort usually and the reverse handle is on the throttle side. Kawasaki finally got things going with 4-strokes now and they are awesome but pricey. I prefer the GTX Sea-Doo over any of these. I'd rent a few or find a demo ride nearby to get ideas. You can check on Ebay or Sea-doo.net for sellers.
