What are some good vocal exercises or warm ups?

I'm going to be starting a job where I'll be using my voice a lot, especially on the phone. However, sometimes people have trouble understanding me when I speak. What sort of exercises would help my elocution and pronunciation as well as my volume? Would theatrical or choral warm ups work?

  1. in my choir we do stuff like sing-

mama made me mash my m&m's

peter piper piped a pretty tune

And if you do them faster and faster and each time go up a semitone- your pronunciation and elocution improve rapidly. give it a go when you read this because it's also lots of fun! you can make little tunes a swell!

.... yeah this kind of stuff exites me lol ...

  2. One of the most effective ways of improving your telephone voice is by speaking just slightly higher in pitch.

If you are at home, one of the famous voice warm ups is the tarzan yell.

Certain old tongue twisters can help with enunciation.

Peter Piper Picked a peck of Pickled Peppers.

    Rubber Baby Buggy Bumpers

    Which Witch is Whitch

Say them slowly and clearly remember to raise the voice pitch slightly.

    Find other Twisters

    Good Luck

  3. I was taught voice by my states most notarized music teacher when I was younger. the best warm up for opening up your face and throat, is this- first say the words, "flah-flah-knee"

now, exaggerate each word slowly by opening your mouth long and wide and really hitting the tip of your toungue against your palette. say the 'flah' in the back of your throat.when you say the 'knee' you want to open the back of your throat and have it come from there-not your nasal palette or your teeth. the sounds need to come from your diaphragm and throat. do this pattern in scales with improv and fluctuation. do it for 5 or more minutes. it really works. keep the nose out of it!

  4. fellatio works for me
