What are some good ways help me run faster?

Im in track and i dont like my time on the hertals and 100m sprints and I want to do what ever I can to run faster.

(my time,100m-15.0 or 15.2 hertals-16.0)

  1. It is hard to say without knowing what you have already done. I would take some time to look at what you have done at practice and in your diet and possibly changing it, its really late in the season to do alot but you can consider it for the future.

  3. power cleans really help your acceleration time which i find to be the most efficient way of improving your time. but on top of everything else is form form form. i dont care how athletic or strong a person may be, if you dont have correct running form you will never come close to reaching your potential, stay low off the starting blocks, hopefully you've heard this all before from your coach but thought i'd help out good luck

  4. You should run with a parashute it will slow you down and make you work harder.  ONLY run with this when you run. DONT run without it if you start using it.  You should be able to pick one up at a sporting goods store.

  6. work out in the summer for sure and do that thing where u sit against the wall for like 30 seconds -1 minute a day that will make your legs stronger

  7. I think being chased by hungry wolves might do the trick.

    Run like your life depends on it.

  8. my friend told me you save engery if you don't breath so fast. try to slow down your inhaling and exhaling when you getting to the end of your race to save that last bit of energy

  9. Eat healthier, do ab work outs and stuff, drink Lots of water, Keep on running

  10. You can practice jogging/running by just listening to your ipod or mp3 player (helps keep your mind off of it), and since it makes you run longer, you get endurance, which would mean that you have more energy to spare. Thus, running faster.

    You can also regulate your breathing. That really helped me.

  11. Run down a steep hill.

  12. pump your arms harder and take longer strides.  Also don't focus on the finisha line, focus on the movement of you feet.

  13. find our if your local gym has a jump stretch program, that helps big time with running and quickness.

  14. Get a better pair of running shoes and practice, practice, practice.

  15. Pay someone you hate and fear to chase you with a stick. (just kidding)

  16. fast twitch muscles are responsible for speed and quick movements... i would suggest doing gym exercises that use an "explosive motion" they would help develop those types of muscles....

  17. more sprints? haha. spikes? eat pasta. think about the person ahead or next to you. thnk in your head. DIG IT!@! you cant beat her. and pump your arms like freaking mad. HAHA.

  18. you spelt hurdles wrong dude. all you can do to train and train and train somemore. it also depends on how old you are. older boys usually tend to run faster than younger ones. but with the 100m you should be running about 13 secs. im not sure what your time should be for the hurdles becoz i dont know what height they are. but im guessing around about 100m or so. try running 10 100m runs as fast as you can all in one split. only walking back up to the 100m as your recovery. that should help.
