  1. try finding a local vegetarian restaurant. the people there will keep you motivated. =]

have you googled vegetarian recipes? there are a lot of great ones online.

    good luck <3

  2. well if your goin to be vegetarian then either go to the doctors and get some pills that have all the stuff your goin to miss or get some like powder drinks like with all the vitamins and stuff

  3. You can't find anything?  Supermarkets are filled with foods that a vegetarian can eat.   Vegetarians get plenty of protein.  Google the Vegetarian food pyramid and then google vegetarian recipes.

  4. This is a smoothie that is so delicious I drink it everyday!

Plus, it has amazing nutritional value

1/2 cup milk of your choice (I use soy)

    3 Tablespoons natural peanut butter

1 banana (sliced and completely frozen. It takes my freezer at least 3 hours)

    2 Tablespoons honey

    1/4 c carob chips

In a blender, blend the first four ingredients until smooth. Add carob chips and blend.

You may adjust the ingredient amouts according to personal preference!

  5. It's so easy to get enough protein without eating meat, for example in one day:

1 cup hemp milk with 3/4 cup corn flakes = 6 grams

    1 vitamin shake = 18 grams

1 apricot & Nut coconut chewy granola bar = 3 grams

1 Amy's veggie burger with whole wheat bun = 19 grams

    1 small bean & rice burrito = 8 grams

1 serving almond nut thins = 3 grams

Total protein = 57 grams ( probably don't even need that much).

I'm finding so many vegetarian recipes on goveg.com and other sites that I'm trying new recipes out every week. It's an adventure and so much more fun than the same old meat based recipes. I've only been a vegetarian for 1 month and 2 weeks and I'm really enjoying it. I did get the starter kit from the PETA website.

  6. tofu with any vegetable is amazing

don't listen to these people... you don't need a pill to be a healthy vegetarian.. i'm vegan and i don't take a pill and my doctor tells me i'm healthy

  7. You will get plenty of protein!   Try this.  Eat three meals a day with the main course being whole grains two times and legumes one time.   For a side dish have vegetables or fruit.   For snacks eat 1/8 cup of raw nuts and seeds every day.  For milk, use soy or rice milk.  Skip all dairy and meat products and processed foods.

Make lentils, split pea soup, whole grain wild rice, put sesame seeds, sunflower seeds, flax seeds, celery seeds in your salads, use balsamic vinegar and lemon juice instead of oils, make a lot of stir fries with spinach and lots of greens and countless colors of veggies.   Don't stir fry with oil, stir fry with cooking wine and/or Tamari and/or vinegar or vegetable broth.   Eat lots of whole grain bread and put a little peanut butter on it.  Learn how to cook tofu.

You will be healthy, lean, your skin will be more beautiful, you will save 100 animals per year from dying, and YOU WILL FEEL GREAT.

  8. People don't realize you don't need as much protein as you think.  You will be fine if you include beans and tofu in your diet.  Just make sure you are not eating a lot of fried and starchy food as people often do when the first start out.

  9. Really?  Then it sounds like you made a bad decision based on nothing.  When I became a vegan in 1989, I had just read Diet for a New America, and Diet for a Small Planet.  These texts convinced me that I must be vegan or I was personally responsible for the irresponsible and callous destruction of my planet.

I didn't do it to be cool or interesting.

  10. go on line fo veggie recipes and on health sites too

  11. Eat animal crackers.
