What are some good ways to help me 'calm down'

I get really worked up over things I shouldn't care about... what are some great ways to just 'WOOOOO-SAWHHHH"

  1. I sometimes do that. I take a deep long breath and close my eyes and smile to myself. Then I do what I really want to do.


  2. clean your room then turn off the lights and  light candle and just lay down and relax, or try some yoga

  3. Meditate.  Have a mantra that you say over and over when you start getting worked up about something.  It can even be lyrics from a song you like, but make sure it's one with calming lyrics!  Have a happy and positive memory that you can focus on during those stressful moments.  This takes more concentration, but do the complete opposite and focus on what it is that's bugging you and then ask yourself, "Why should I care about this?"  Since it seems to be things that you shouldn't care about, then a legitimate answer is going to be lacking and then you can just shrug it away.  Learn to have a healthy sense of humility where you can laugh at yourself for letting something bother you so much.   And then there's my favorite way of dealing with all stress...

    SMILE.

    Seriously, just smile.  You don't have to think about anything happy, or sugar plum fairies, etc., just smile.  It's so hard to be negative when you have a smile on your face.
