My son's grandparents are 6 hours away, and I am looking for some creative ways to try and give them the closest relationship as possible. Thanks.

  1. email with lots of pics or video chatting would be cool.

  2. buy a digital camera with a photo card you can put in the computer and upload the photos you take to the Walgreen's website.  I do this for my parents and they LOVE it and they also print the photos they like.  I frequently upload photos at least 2 times a month.

The digital camera I have also has takes short video clips so I upload to youtube so they can watch the kids in action.

I also let my children color paper for the grandparents too.  My 15 month old just started scribbling really well so grandma and grandpa just got a pretty  picture to hang on the refrigerator.

  3. Phone calls and creative mail.

  4. e-mail pics alot or text pics. or cam to cam talk.

  5. How old is your son?

You could get him to write to his grandparents, he could draw some pictures and include some recent photographs. That way he could really personalise it and they can communicate back. Like others have said, you could organise regular phone calls between your son and his grandparents or do a webcam chat. It depends what suits you best, personally I like the writing idea. He could decorate a card and make it look really good, he would probably enjoy that too!

  6. Emails, letters, phone calls, and visits when possible.

  7. my grandparents live 6 hours away from me too :0)

I'm 13, but I remember when I was younger we would drive to St. Louis (where she lives) about once every or every other month and hang out for a week end.

  8. e-mail, web cams...meet 1/2 way to do fun stuff and hang out....make cards and mail them
