  1. Teach them to ride a bike and ride with them. Read books to them. Go to the zoo or park. Anything to expose them to the world around  them.

  2. This is a good question. Sometimes many of us feel totally exhausted just getting on with the business of living that we lack the energy for the really important things. Know that your kids will love doing anything with you if you are really giving them your total attention. Reading together, card and board games, doing your nails (if they are girls lol), playing a video game together, having a picnic instead of dinner on the table, a walk in a new neighbourhood, planting a little garden, even things like washing the dishes together are valued by our kids if we use the time to express our love and interest in them.

    Good luck and God bless.

  3. With kids it isnt as much what you do but that you do it.  Since mine are getting older and all involved n sports, clubs and with friends I have to find time in their schedule!  the easiest way for me to do it is to get them involved when I am cooking........they all help open cans, stir pots, grab things from the fridge etc.  it is something that has to be done and gives us time to talk while doing it.  Then there is homework time and even if they dont need the help I sit at the table with them while they are doing it, watching movies is good as well as reading, I read my book and they read theirs while we are all curled up on the couch, go for walks around the block, sit in a swing in the back yard while they play and just watch them.  you do not have to be involved physically with everything just being there is what they want.

  4. I COMPLETELY understand where you are coming from. I, too am bipolar and medicated and though the days are usually good, sometimes it just sucks. I have 5 kids, ages 11, 10, two 8 year olds and a 20 month old.

We like to play board games alot. We also have like (I'm not exaggerating) 6 hour Uno Attacks marathons. The game costs about 25 dollars and can be found at Walmart and Target and many other places, I'm sure. It's a load of fun.

We also go to the park alot which is fun because they can play on the playground and I can sit and enjoy the breeze. LOL We also do alot of crafts together because it's a nice way to spend time together without getting all crazy and hyper. I do that enough on my own! LOL Kids are so easy to please. They just want to know they are loved and cared for.

Also, what the one person said about just spending time with them is true. Kids are not very picky. You'd be surprised at how happy they are if you just play anything at all with them. My kids love to play dress up, even the older ones and we all dress up and play Harry Potter and also The Legend of Zelda. You can get some cheap dress up stuff by simply going to a Salvation Army store and buying used costumes and old clothes. My 10 year old daughter loves to wear this old 60s style print dress she got for 2 dollars and pretend she's a hippy. It's pretty funny to watch.

Have you ever thought of just asking them what they'd like to do? If they're old enough to form sentences, they'll tell you what they think is fun and what isn't. And on those days when you need some alone time, designate a "reading time". Make it fun, go to the library as a family, help them find books they are interested in and everyone sit and read in their own little quiet places. Anyways, I wish you luck. Raising kids is tough sometimes but raising kids while dealing with the stresses of being bipolar and going through your little "funks" is a different thing all together. You could message me if you'd like.

  5. Gardening we built a little vegie garden kids love it,  Painting get big pieces of paper take them outside and go nuts I am telling you do you know how awesome it is to stick your feet in a plate of paint and make patterns on the paper with the kids it is soo much fun and not too much energy is required..

Photography give them the challenge of taking a picture of a certain item like a scavanger hunt sort of thing.

Short stories... one of us will start the story by writing a line then folding the paper over so you cant see it and the next person writes something folds it over etc etc then you unfold the whole thing and read all the sentences together it is hilarious..

Anyway hope this helps a bit..

  6. take them to a movie theather

  7. HI I understand this totally!.....I like to do puzzles....read books...watch movies....bake cookies....fly kites...swing...or even a picnic can be fun.

  8. well , im a kid and my parents never spend time with me ,

but if they did i would like to , play boardgames , go to the icecream parlour , go to the beach and build sandcastles ,

go to the park and play,  fly a kite , play playstation )

  9. Lay down and read books together, Lay back and let them do a puppet show, dress up.. let them do a runway and show off their clothes for you. Sitting on the porch and play with chalk, blow bubbles, anything really as long as you are involved you dont have to run around with them, they will know you love them if you give them their time by just watching and participating. Good luck! and HAVE FUN!
