What are some good ways to stay in shape over the summer?

I am a track and soccer athlete. I am looking to bulk up a little bit but not with a whole lot of gym work because I find that boring. I have access to lots of different running areas like a long, steep hill and a very long steep set of stairs. I would be training about 3-4 times a week.

  1. run distance and sprints. . if you want a different work out try this nike work out package. . it has para shoots, ladders, dumbbells. and lots of other fun work out activities.

    try for a warm up doing an intense ty bow work out. . cool down yoga. take it serious, it's good for ya!

  3. Bulking up without using the gym a lot is a little difficult. But stairs and hills will get you awesome thighs and calves. Sprinting will help you get bigger legs as well (make your muscles work fast because your fast twitch muscles get big when they workout and slow twitch muscles get long and lean) Jump rope will get your calves. Pushups will help your arms and shoulders but do different kinds. do regular pushups with your hand about shoulder width apart and than do pushups with your hands past should width and do diamond pushups. Circular pushups are also good (do a push up and than step to the left with your arms but keep your feet in the same place do a push up and take another step eventually you will work your way around in a circle. it usually takes about 12 pushups to do 1 circle.) pull ups will also work. Do about 500 sit ups a day to get awesome abs.

    If you are able to get to a gym 1 or 2 times a week that would be helpful. At the gym do high weight low reps. Make sure that when the weight is going up you do it explosively but in control and bring the weight back down nice and slow. Good luck.
