What are some good ways to study/memorize spanish?

I currently in Spanish I right now and it's really hard for me to memorize spanish! Does anyone have any good techniques to study?

move to spain for a yr. i went there without any strong knowledge of the language, and just by taking daily classes, and absorbing the culture (versus surrounding myself only with other english speaking americans) i easily mastered spanish within the yr.

hi am a graduate student i studied german for four years an i guess the best way to study spanish is to read texts an whenever yu ll find a word that yu dont understand just go an check it up an thus when yu come across that word your understanding of the language will be improved its really efficient to listen to music and then to read and translate its lyrics in another language that will surely improve yur hearing ability and never forget the most impotant thing about all this its the perseverance i guess 1 an half an hour a day will do here are some good language directories try them lexilogos ,logos the multilingual database,alpha dictionary and above all the google directory there yull find everything yur lookin for  trust me.

Practical application is best!~ I learned this from experience.  I actually attended a Spanish church for a while at my college and it was wonderful!  I did not understand a lot at first and it was overwhelming but after a while I really saw an improvement.  And maybe you could even write a couple of words on some index cards and work on them each day.  Just pull them out whenever you remember and keep adding to it.  Just studying is also another great way to learn Spanish.
