What are some good ways to teach kids how to share?

I'm 16 and just recently got a job at a privately owned daycare as a teacher's assistant. The kids are between 2 and 6 years old. But they have no concept of sharing. I'm familiar with kids, but am not used to having to teach them how to share. How do you preschool teachers and daycare teachers go about it?

  1. Here is a really good  SHORT article with ideas for you

  2. 1) Modeling.  If you work with coworkers, demonstrate sharing with them.  Verbalize it. "Oh, Sally, would you like some of these papers for your class?"

    2) Talk about it. "We have 22 cookies.  Shall we share some with the class next door?"

    3) Read stories about it.

    4) When students argue over toys, point out how to share, effectively. "You can play with it for five minutes, then you."

  3. Kids learn by example at the young age, so as others said before me, demostrate sharing as much as you can with the other kids and teachers. Always incorporate the word "sharing" into your interactions (when appropriate, of course). Also, you can integrate sharing by asking other children to give so-and-so a "turn" with a partiuclar object ("William, can you please let Bobby use the action figure for a while? It's his turn now."). If still the kids can't seem to grasp it, let them know kindly yet firmly that if they can't share, then no one will get to use whatever is the cause of the fighting.

  4. First by showing them through example..If they see you share then they'll pick up....Next do playing exercises where you take turns sharing toys or books...
