Question:

What are some good website hosts?

I'm in the process of building a website with a template that I had purchased.

I got the zip file uploaded into the File Manager and can edit the html, but I can't see what it looks like and have had problems with this site since I signed up.

I'm with Godaddy.com and although they answer questions quickly, the control panel and file manager is thee worst I've ever worked with.

This is a business site for me and I really wanna get it up and published. So far, I've ran into question after question with their customer support

I know that there are good website hosts out there, but it's been awhile, so I'm not too familiar with them. All I want is a website host that will have FTP uploads, an easy control panel to edit the files and be able to see them before publishing to the site. Sort of beginners stuff.

Thank you!

  1. bluedomino.com

  2. You can check review of top ten web hosts at website like http://aplis.net/ .

  3. I prefer wtv-zone  .  They constantly back up everything, plus they are computer and webtv friendly.  Owners are Larry and Kari and you email them personally with questions and they get back to you right away.  If you want to build a website, this is my first recommendation.

  4. godaddy

  5. First let me say I am a professional web designer and you do NOT want to host on Godaddy. it is in my opinion second worst hosting company that I know of.

Go to http://www.samwilson3d.com , there is a list of hosts (right side menu) they all have cpanel and something called "fantastico" the least expensive of these plans is around $50 per YEAR

Godaddy has given me problems of every kind including MySQL and FTP problems and they are just a pain in the butt

Now depending on what kind of site you want, I recommend Coppermine Photo Gallery or Joomla or Zen cart which is a 1 click install using Fantastico, you can make this look however you want bu only using Photoshop and CSS. I would start with a premade template designed for Coppermine and then make adjustments from there to make the site the way you want it.(the template can just be a starting point or you can not use one at all)

Joomla can also be installed with one click using Fantastico and that may also be the way to go.

-there are about 20 different 1-click install solutions that you can install and customize with Fantastico

  6. id say 110mb.com, they make it easy, but there are restrictions.

  7. http://www.GoldPuma.com is the lowest cost service which is full-featured and really works for you. You can also take a look at: http://bluehost-service.atspace.com . As an experienced webmaster I’m sure it would work for you and fulfill all your requirements. They have a really great offer & I have used them for over 3 yrs now, and have never had a single problem with them. Their service is really great and easy to use.
