  1. Baby Sit

  2. a thirteen year old doesn't need that kind of money. start babysitting. you are going to get money by getting a website

  3. Be creative....

Depends on how much work you want to do....

For instance when I was 12, the neighbor's tree fell down, I made $20 by helping the tree service load his truck, and he offered to give me more work if I wanted it (I didn't)  Making $200 a month would not have been hard, and that was when you could buy a new car for $3000.....

    Be creative.....

I know one guy that picks up dog poo..... He makes $100 a DAY! ($10 a yard, 10 yards a day....)

My daughter makes about $100 a week babysitting.

My daughter's friend makes about $50 a week walking dogs.

    Deliver newspapers.....

    Or....

Offer people the option of having their newspapers taken out of the driveway and brought up to their front door for  a few dollars a month.... I WOULD PAY for that one!!!!  (50 papers x $4 a month)

  4. babysitting!

  5. Are you think about summer work?  Or during the school year?  If summer, are you planning on doing anything else?

From a practical standpoint, at 13, you really can't get a job working for a "real" employer.  The restrictions are high for teenagers and they'd rather hire someone 16.

Everyone will suggest babysitting.  I don't know where you live, so I can't say what the going rate for sitters is.  I know I pay a 14 year old $10, but I'm in a very expensive part of the country.  I'd suspect that $5-$8 would be closer to what you'd get.

If you babysit for 10 hours a week, that's going to be in your range.  Not unreasonable to achieve your $200-$300.  You'll want to find a guaranteed set of jobs, not just when people call you.

If you're out of school, a "Mother's Helper" is an alternative.  At your age, this might be better.  This means helping a stay-at-home mother (or father, for that matter), typically someone with an infant.  They're at home, but use you use to allow them to catch up on sleep, make dinner, run some errands, or just have some down time.  You can likely find one family to assist, going 2-3 hours every day of the week.  There's your 10 or so hours.

If your parents know any moms that are expecting babies or just had a baby, you may want to propose this.  Too many new moms don't realize that, yes, a 13-year old that you pay a $200/month is going to make a HUGE improvement in your life.
