What are some good white wines?

I agree - Pinot Grigio is my fave white wine.   Not too sweet, like Zinfandel.

Depends on your preferance.  Sweet or Dry

For Sweet I suggest  Beringers white Zinfendal or Chateau St Michele Riesling.

For dry;  A French Pouilly-Fuisse or any New York State dry Riesling

Its all preference what you like, do you like sweeter wines?  I would suggest a Riesling or one of the Calafornia Symphonies, if you like it dry, i would suggest  Sauvignon, or Chardonnay

I'm going to break with this Chardonnay - Riesling - etc crowd and give you some, d**n good white wines.  Find yourself Pascal Jolivet Sancerre and/or Pouilly Fume.  If you are interested in Chardonnay, try la Chablisienne Chablis'.  And for something completely different, Zefina Serience out of Washington State.  Its a Viognier blend that will blow you away.  I think I'm to go open a bottle.

A Chardonnay is a great choice. If you want something similar to it, without the smoky flavor (since it's aged in oak), go for a Chablis, as well.

Riesling is a great choice, as it's a little on the sweeter side, without being like simple syrup.

Pinot Grigio or Pinot Gris would be good. They have a nice bite to them, without being overpowering. Also, a Muscato or a Muscatelle would be good.

These are all a little on the dry side, but not to the point of reminding one of vinegar. Any one would be a great choice with chicken or fish dinners, or for just sitting on the porch and enjoying the evening breezes.
