  1. 1. Buy micro-fiber towels instead of paper towels. They're machine washable and so, last longer.

    2. Mix coffee grinds with hand soap and scrub away! The coffee grinds from your next brew of coffee will take off dead skin and keep everything clean.

    3. Buy soy candles rather than ones made of paraffin, which is non-renewable. Soy candles last longer as well.

    4. Recycle your cell phone at www.call2recycle.org

    5. And make sure there's a tight-fitting lid on your trash can so animals-or the wind-won't get to it! :)

    Hope those tips were helpful.

p.s. What's so bad about being called a "hippy"? Lol.

  2. I'm trying to do the same!

The obvious little things help out and are generally the first steps. Don't litter. Recycle. Reuse anything that can be reused. DOn't smoke. And buy organic products whenever possible.  There is a whole line of cleaning products by Clorox that are wonderful!  Also making your own cleaning products is a great thing to do.  Combining water and vinegar is a simple disinfectint that can be used around your home.

  3. take short mot too warm showers/baths

buy the canvas bags at mijer or other stores.

cut down on things you throw away instead of paper napkins use cloth ones.

    use recyclable products.

  4. Are you a hippy??

  5. The most environmentally friendly product is the product that was never made and bought. We do not need most products.

Only 1% of all products/goods bought by North Americans were used after 6 months after buying. Just imagine the amount of CO2 and other air/water pollution that was created to make the 99% of stuff that we never used.So do not buy anything unless you need it very badly and can not live without it.

See www.storyofstuff.com for a very nice video on reduction.
