What are some great islands to visit for vacation?

That have good snorkeling, cruises, maybe.. parasailing, idk. and NO SHARKS ON THE SHORES!! haha. lol

Hi! I have been to a good number of islands (never on a cruise ship - all for a real stay)  including:

Jost Van d**e, Puerto Rico, French St Martin, Tortola, Antigua, Grand Cayman, St Vincent, Trinidad, Anguilla, St Thomas, St John, and Tobago (maybe others? I forget!).

I've enjoyed the snorkelling best on Cayman and Antigua. Cayman bc the water is  warm and (mostly)calm and Antigua because there is a big variety of fish and settings with 365 beaches to choose from. The food is best on French St Martin. My favorite beaches are Anguilla - blue water, calm, no loud watersports, no crowds. Pleasant boat excursions (sail, lunch, snorkel) are available from most of the islands I mention (maybe not FROM Jost Van d**e as most people arrive to this tiny spot on their own sail boat). Parasailing, jet skis, etc.. is not something I do on vacation (I lounge with a book!) but of the places I have been, probably PR and the Dutch side of St Martin would be a best bet for activity.

To my thinking, none of these islands are too "sharky." The most sightings I have heard of come from the Bahamas and Turks&Caicos ; )

As far as places I have NOT visited yet: you might enjoy the ABC islands (Aruba, Curacao, Bonaire). You could get a cheap, easy flight into Aruba from most of the US, spend a few days doing activities like parasailing/jet skiing and then get a short flight to Bonaire for the rest of your vacation for what I hear if some of the world's best snorkeling. Enjoy!

EDIT!!!! ooops! I completely misunderstood your fear of SHARKS! ha. No advice  on how to avoid land sharks, sorry!

Put on a little bikini and you'll have land sharks all around you.  Curacao, Aruba, some parts of Jamaicamon, St. Thomas, Grand Cayman, come to mind.  Give the land sharks a couple memories from their vacation  :-).
