Brisbane has many great restaurants/bars and this link offers a fairly good description of many of the best available.  It also gives a price range and other details such as trading hours and location, as well as posted reviews by recent clientele.

My personal favourite is "Merthyr Cafe" in New Farm (named after st), and the chinese food there is simply wonderful. They get the most flavour out of the least ingredient (e.g. salt), and they don't use any MSG.

Belgium beer cafe

OMG the beer, the food but come night that place isn't too bad. Just dont shout anyone the Belgium beers are great, higher grog factors and cost a more then your x*x but worth a try. Plus some of the glasses are really cool and you might be tempted to pop them into your hand bag before you leave....
