Question:

What are some great tools?

I work at a railyard and now I need to buy my own tools. I would like Snap on and Mac tools, but they are a lot of money. Is there any brand like them, for less? And Craftsmen is out of the question, as I work and get paid by my tools, they will not honor the warrentee, and I have broken many tools at my job.

Any brand names will help, as I need deep drive impact sockets larger then 1" and many odd hand tools

  1. I don't understand how you get a job that requires tools and you don't have any--seems as if you could float a loan and buy what you need and use it as a tax write off. And why tell Craftsman or anyone else where you work or how you broke the tools---seems as if you could have said you did it working on your car at home--who would know?? Where did the other guys buy their tools and are they breaking their tools as often as you?? Something doesn't seem right here---Tools are tools..maybe they are easy to read the sizes and maybe the racks are shiny--but they are all the same alloys and they are made the same--I never found one to be better than another---most guys go for the one with the hottest calendar girls. Surely someone you work with can offer some suggestions.

  2. try matco or cornwell they come around to the shops and just about everything is gar. for life and really not that expensive they even sell on e bay
