I want the snack to be nutritional, but not extremely bland. What're some suggestions? I'm 14.

  1. Popcorn is one of the best.  If you buy it in the bag, then make sure it's 94% fat free (if you're dieting).  I make mine in a contraption made for the microwave, with no oil, and then spray it lightly with Butter Pam so the salt will stick.  If you make it on the stove, limit the oil to 1 Tablespoon and use heart-healthy oil, like canola.

Nuts are another good whole-grain snack, but it's easy to overindulge, which again, is only a problem if you're dieting.  If you don't need to diet, chances are you won't overindulge.

Some of the whole-grain crackers out today are good, especially with a little Laughing Cow cheese spread on top...

  2. cereal

    oatmeal

    snack bars

    trail mixes
