What are some healthy things you can get at fast food restaurants?

I'm not picky so name whatever you can.

I forgot to pack myself something to have for lunch today and had to end up eating at a fast food place so I decided to take the lesser evil and go with subway. However after looking at the nutrition menu on the site it looks like my 6 in tuna sandwich ended up being over 500 calories. (the sandwich alone I only had water with it) So what do other fast food places offer that's something healthier, just in case I get in this situation again?

I'm not a total health nut but I am trying to get in shape and I hate it when I have a hang up like this. lol

  1. -Salads. but be careful! Salad that have bacon and cheese and high fat creamy dressings are just as unhealthy as a burger. Look for salads with extra veggies (like carrots, spinach, broccoli, etc.) or fruits (raisins, apples, oranges, grapes, etc.

-Fruit and yogurt combinations. A number of restaurants have these and they're usually made with low fat yogurt (Fruit N' Yogurt Parfait and Fruit N' Walnut Salads at McDonalds; Yogurt N' Berries at Tim Hortons)

-Fresh fruit cups/packages (Apple Dippers at McDonalds, Fruit Cups at Chick-Fil-A)

-Grilled Chicken sandwiches. Order them with no mayo if you can eat them that way, or get a sauce like BBQ or Honey Mustard on them

-Soup. Many fast food places offer a variety of soups. Look for the stock based ones, not the cream based ones.

-Subway can be healthy, but you usually have to stick to their 6 gram of fat or less sandwiches with no mayo or cheese. I get a roast beef or roast turkey with no mayo or cheese, lots of veggies, and sweet onion vinaigrette and it's 350-385 calories.

-If you can stick to smaller portions (really small!), then eating normal food at a fast food restaurant is do-able. For example, you could get a 6 nugget meal from Micky D's with a salad with low fat dressing  and one dipping sauce and a water for only 410 calories.

  2. water

  3. It's not so much the actual food that's unhealthy as the way people use it.....moderation in all things.

  4. At Subway get a salad or a turkey sandwich w/ no cheese no oil no mayo.  Tuna has a lot of calories and fat because of all the mayo mixed in.  I cant think of one other "healthy" thing at fastfood, and the subway thing still isn't healthy really b/c it's processed meat.

  5. always try a salad. they have them at subway too. they r hearty and tasty. u can get them just about anywhere. i LUV them. i hope tat helped.

  6. salad, water, mabe fruit?????????

  7. I always go to Wendy's and order the small spinach salad with the dressing on the side and a baked potato with sour cream.  For two dollars I have a very good lunch.

  8. Grilled chicken anything with NO dressing.

  9. I figured when I saw this a lot of people would suggest salad. The thing is a lot of dressings are pretty fattening and some of the stuff on it isn't necessary. For example, caeser salad is not good for you at all as the dressing is very bad. So get a salad with good dressing, and don't have cheese grated on it or anything.
