  1. Home Remedies for Scars and Acne Scars

    Lemon juice:

The citric nature of lemon helps in cleaning the skin and removing any kind of scar. Apply lemon juice over the effected skin, or rub lemon over the skin by cutting it in two half.

    Tomato:

Similarly, tomato juice extract is also good for curing scars. Apply freshly prepared tomato juice over the effected area, or simply rub tomato over the skin by cutting it in two pieces.

    Cucumber:

Cucumber extract is also very good in removing dark scars. Apply cucumber extract over the effected area and keep for 5-10 minutes and wash it off. Do this 2-3 times a day until the scar is not removed completely. This is one of the useful home remedies for scars.

    Banana:

Mash ripe banana and apply over the effected skin. Allow it to dry for 5-7 minutes and then wash it off.

  4. Mederma is AMAZING, it's a little expensive but a little goes a long way. It has aloe and whatnot in it and if you use it daily (or nightly, or both, it soaks in) your scars will fade and probably disappear, I scar easily and I use it on all of mine, it's a miracle cream for me.

  5. Right now, the ONLY thing that will guarenteed work is time.

If you pick even ONE bump a week, that still isn't enough time for the one you picked last week to heal completely. While they heal, avoid sunlight. The melanocytes are more active in damaged skin and "tan" quicker than normal cells, leaving dark marks.

If you want to be pro active about it, there are some things you can do. Believe it or not, eat a balanced diet and ease up on carbs. Research has shown that patients that limit carbohydrate intake have fewer blemishes than the control group.

In addition, use a Benzoyl Peroxide facewash on a regular basis for control. NO you don't need that ProActiv c**p. Some people swear by it, but I work with over 200 dermatologists and all of them say it's a scam. Over the counter Benzoyl Peroxides and Salicylic Acid Washes work best, are easier on your pockets, and don't put you on a permanent mailing list.

Talk to your dermatologist about getting treatment. I promise they can help find a solution that WILL WORK for you.

  6. According to a Plastic Surgeon, there are very few remedies for treatment of scars and home remedies is not one of them. When I saw a Plastic Surgeon to have some moles removed, he told me that there are some expensive creams you can try, but the results vary from person to person, depending on how bad the scars are. Some of them are permanent and others can be reduced by seeing a Dermatologist and having Dermabrasion performed on your skin several times until the layer of scarring is reduced. Sorry I couldn't give you a better answer, but I am telling you what doctors told me.

  7. try the dream matte mouse for coverup until they fade completely. (which they might)

I've had a lot of scars on my arms, which I thought would last forever, but they're actually gone now.
