Oh wow, this sure is a tough one. Well, I can see your struggle in this. It's kind of like 12 year olds are at the age of maturing, yet still a child. I guess it all depends on the kid. You can never go wrong w/ surprising them by inviting a bunch of their friends over. That would be fun. Maybe buy some new movies, movies that are funny or scary. Maybe a bonfire w/ marshmallow roasting. I don't know, It all depends on what they like to do---And good luck.

for my 12th birthday i had a pool party with my friends, nothing incredible, but we had soooo much fun.  we stayed in the pool all day and some slept over.  then on ur 13th you can really go all out.

well, the most generic one would be a slumber party(sleepover), and if you would do that, make sure you have like a whole level of your house (if you have two stories) or a whole room or 2, so that you and your friends can be free to do whatev without parents going wack when you stay up till 3, and won't get mad when you blast your iPod speakers(music is a necessity to any party, even if you don't dance)(if you don't have iPod or speakers, ask friend to bring one, or if all else fails, radio)

i'm actually goin to a girls sleepover who's turning 12 on saturday, and i'm not sure what it's gonna be like, but if it helps, the party is from 4 pm to 12 in afternoon, so there's time to sleep in the morning.

if  you're friends have never come over to your house before or their parents are touchy when it comes to sleepovers, just try to convince your friends, cause if they wanna go, they'll do whatev they can to convince their parents, or you could add some deets about it in the invites to help calm the parents, or just pray and hope for the best
