I am organizing summer camp crafts. We have a bunch of 6" inch card stock circles (pink, orange and blue). We want to use them but we don't have any ideas on how to use them, besides having the kids just color them. The children's ages range from 3-7. Any CREATIVE ideas?

  1. Ever heard of google?

Anyway, circles could be decorated with anything(glitter, colered sand, pompoms or even just colored) then punch a hole, run some string, attached to a hanger and tada, a mobile.

  2. Get some paper, punch a hole or two in the card stock and paper. Attach them with string or something in this order; card stock, paper, card stock. Decorate the front piece of card stock. A notebook!

This next option is kind of stupid, but it's a tradition at a camp I used to go to. I'm assuming that all of the kids' hands are small enough to fit on the pieces of card stock. Get them to trace their hands and cut them out and make their own little hand turkeys. Tape them to popsicle sticks and then have the kids make up names for their turkeys. Write down the names and have Hand Turkey Fights. Have a prize lined up for the winner.

I went to a strange camp.

  3. Glue the cards together to make caterpillars, and then teach them how they turn into butterflies.

Cut them into flowers and add a pipe cleaner stem.

  4. you could maybe use them as frisbees

  5. you can go to http://www.marthastewart.com/ for some great ideas and free templates

    select crafts

in the search bar type paper or templates

or search by Crafts by Technique

  6. You could make camp autograph books such as a memory book.  Take several circles and punch holes two at the top and tie together with a piece of yarn,

Make a Camp recipe book.  Get some easy recipes and have the kids copy them on the circles then tie them together as above.

You could also make mobiles with string or yarn and punched holes to tie together.  Have them either cut out pictures from magazines and glue to the circles or draw pictures of thier favorite things or family members. Tie onto a clothes hanger and hang from a rope strung between trees, hang from a window or light at home.

You could also fold the sides and glue together or tie sides together to make a ball shape or other shapes and tie strings to hang with as ornaments or decorations.  Glue and glitter the circles before making the shapes.

You could also punch holes around the edges and have them sew around them with yarn and bobby pins as needles.  Bobby pins are much safer than sharp needles.  Unless you have plastic yarn needles to work with.

You could make placemats by sewing several together to form a mat.

You could also play musical circles and play the game of musical chairs.  But use the circles to stand on instead of chairs.

Use the circles for name tag necklaces.  Use the different colors of circles to split up the different groups of kids.

Hope this has given you some ideas to start with.
