Im a former powerseller on ebay. Dont even think about it. Im sure you will still try to sell on there but you are going to go into debt with them if you try selling on there now. I was a powerseller, made about $1000 net profit every week. I made next to nothing now. Ebay fees will wipe you out and they have made so many dumb changes that drove all the powersellers like me off the site, so no more buyers are seeing our listings when they search in google, so they arent being led to ebay because google is where most ebay customers come from when they search for things in google and ebay listings come up in the search results. Theres alot less items now so alot less customers, and the economy the way it is doesnt help and now ebay charges you to list in other countries...perfect timing....I suggest craigslist or try some of the free sites even though you may not get even a single sale on many of them. I put a list below of all the sites in terms of traffic they get.

You can sell just about anything as long as you get it for a discounted price or its unique. Ebay has done away with digital items but at the current moment in time, they still allow you to put those digital items on cds and mail them to your customers. But you can still sell digital items on many other sites and even on your own website if you can lead traffic there. Digital items are the best things to sell because a customer can download the item from you as soon as they pay and you dont have to worry about shipping or anything like that. Plus you can just duplicate the same thing over and over again, unlimited inventory. I say you should write a guide teaching something that is popular. For example, americans love to whine about gas prices, so make a guide showing them how to save money such as "how to make biodiesel fuel from vegetable oil" or "how to build a hydrogen generator so your car can run on water"....or write a guide for all those Guitar Hero players out there "Guitar Hero cheat codes". Make an ebook out of it using open office and sell the ebooks, or just make a webpage and allow people access to the page after they pay. Email the information or set it up so it sells on autopilot like I did. You can find guides on how to do anything online. Learn how to do stuff and then write another guide in your own words and sell it.

If you want to get a bit more serious, start an online store and use a dropshipper. It takes some time to know what you're doing, but can be very lucrative.
