I've always been interested in acting. For just starting as a freshman in high school I feel like I've had some good opportuntites such as drama club, youth theatre, choir, dance team, drill team, and honors choir. But what are some other things that they look for?

  1. Talent, a confident personality,(like you KNOW you can do this and you have faith in your talent) willing to work, available schedules.. mostly talent. :D

  2. Talent first but its also about your look... they have an image in mind for what they want and they also are going to look at you based on other people they want to cast. Sometimes you may have been the very best but you're too tall, too short, blonde when they wanted brunette, long hair when they wanted short...etc...

When you audition try to dress similar to what you think the character would dress like.

  3. talent

  4. Sometimes it is the little things...  like being nice to their stupid little dog, no matter how much you hate the stupid little thing.   Or talking about their favorite Hockey team, as if the world is damned fortunate to have them in the Stanley Playoffs again (what ever the h**l that is)...    Casting Directors can be weird...  just be yourself.  If you don't get a callback because you don't know anything about hockey, don't worry about it...  there are plenty of other auditions coming down the road.

  5. yup, talent and dedication.  try looking for different acting jobs here: hollywood-opportunities(dotcom)
