Question:

What are some inexpensive, yet reliable auto insurance companies?

I need a new auto insurance company, Allstate just raised my rates through the roof. But I don't want it to be an unreliable company that will drop me for one little crack in my winshield. State Farm and all those companies are too expensive for me (I am a teenager and work part-time). I live in CA. Any suggestions?

  1. http://www.getezurl.com?0wbQZzwa58 is a great site that helps you find a good quote in your area. the cheapest insurance company really depends on your situation and past history and everything so one car insurance company could be better than the other for different people

  2. There's no short cut for shopping around.  Cheapest for me, might be most expensive for you.   As a teen, it's not going to be cheap.  But you'll have to call some local, independent agents, and get real quotes.

  3. Try e-surance.  I was with Allstate until my rates jumped in 07, switched to e-surance for almost 1/2 of what Allstate was charging!

    others to try,

Geico, AIG, Liberty Mutual, General Casualty, The Hartford  Do a google search "insurance carriers in yourtown, CA"  OR make an appointment at a local insurance agency, they will compare a bunch of rates for you!

Another tip: Call and get quotes over the phone, make sure to speak to a REAL person, they're consistently lower and more accurate than on-line quotes!

  4. It's not he price that's the most important.

What IS important though is how the insurance company pays it's claims.

I've heard that some of those internet and no-local-agent companies take their time in paying. Most of them don't have local claims offices, so they outscource their claims adjusting to independent adjusters.

Try Nationwide. I'm sure there is a local agent in your town to help you. He/she will be there for you, to help you with claims, answer questions, make requested changes to your policy, print certificates, etc., or if you just want to talk.

Sure, a local agent gets paid a small commission for your business, but having a local "friend" is worth it.

Remember, Nationwide is on your side.

Even if you don't choose a Nationwide agent, choose a local agent who cares. You are only a number to those non-local agent companies.
