  1. they're naked, isn't that interesting enough? but. is there- - -really- - anything interesting about any kind of rat....


  2. They're not really naked... instead they have a very thin coat. And they cant feel pain.  

  3. It was actually a naked mole rat that found the formula for SPF 25.  

  4. They're freaky little critters -

    no subcutaneous body fat (that's why they're wrinkly),

    they don't drink water, instead extracting it from the veggies they eat,

    a disease vector for bubonic plague,

    insect-like social system.
