I love philosophy and analyzing everything there is to do with life or anything. I come to an epiphany about something just about everyday. So what are some things you've thought about that blew your mind?

    Truly amazing.

  3. This may sound dorky but Einsteins theory of relativity about time warping and the size of the universe.  I mean seriously without any psychedelic drugs it can blow your mind thinking about how big the universe is (which we don't even know the true size), how long it takes light to travel and that a star you see today is actually an image of it millions of years ago because that is how long it took that light to travel.  I took physics in college and if I understood string theory better that would have been my major...the stuff is fascinating!

  4. Here are some books which present things to ponder:

    "The Path of the Higher Self" and "The Masters and Their Retreats," Mark Prophet;

  5. What existed before existence?

It sounds like an annoying question but think about it.

What is the sound of pure silence?

    What constitutes "sentience"?

The next one requires an explanation.  If aliens exist it's possible that they have completely different senses than we do.  They could have no eyes, evolution could have been completely different for them.  So the question is.

    How many senses are there?

    and

What are we missing out on?

  6. It's also how the mind functions into different theories. The sense of analyzing in such unique different ways of each individuals. That the moods and personality reflected at a time in each subject matter in every responses. I ponder on the values of the mind.

What it would be like if u were the last person on earth

What it would be like if u were the last person on earth with the people in the room with you. (like stranded on an island)

    your future

the theory of "i think therefore i am"

Idont know?

Is there something I can record on my mp3 player where I'll here nothing at all and cancelling out the noise outside my headphones?

  12. I would say mostly my current understanding of universals and particulars; which I don't know everything about, and some of this may ought to remain secret: or that some substantial particular learning is prerequisite; but I am willing to explain everything I know, yet in proper order in an exchange of ideas.

I am wondering about Kant's Antinomies.  Why are the contraditory antinomies equally valid?  Why are the four, considered the cornerstone or the general types of antinomies?  Are the antinomies unresolvable?

Good to ponder these, (see "Critique of Pure Reason"; also a good summary of this is in Bertrand Russell's chapter on Kant in "A History of Western Philosophy")

  13. What is the soul? Is it what is known as an "astral body"? If people have "soul"...is the "soul" fully developed and funtional at birth or, does it mature with experience and become funtional by degrees? If it is not fully developed, does the soul just mature on its own, willy-nilly, without any special attention on our part? Or do we need to make specific efforts in order to become mature souls?

    What would Jesus do?

  15. Why do atoms go in patterns?

Why doesn't god build me a house?

    Time is a place.

Something that really blew my mind(Cause I was on mushrooms) Was how everything is very connected with each other in many different ways. Like how cells can be related houses, People related to DNA(It has 2 sides, girl/boy) And possibly pondering about where society is going to go with the idea of it being like a human body.  Like Doesn't a rocket ship seem phallic? while the moon looks circular, like an egg? female/male....It is like the rocket is sperm, Ideally speaking.    Also I figure that people are always looking for a specific connection with each other, because of the DNA idea, thymine with adenine only...So we are looking for a special mate, and when we are there, we most likely do not think about anything else.

  16. If "pondering" is blowing your mind. Read Stephen King's

    book. "Duma Key."

    How to draw a picture:

Start with a blank surface. It doesn't have to be paper or

canvas. But I feel it should be white. We call it white, because

we need a word. But it's true name is nothing. Black is the

absence of light, but white is the absence of memory. The

    color of can't remember.

  17. How do you train to cut diamonds?

i mean, they are not going to let you attempt to cut a diamond with practice and using flawed diamonds may not give the right level of training

    Who ate the first crab?

What attracts you to asking a question like this?

How is it possible for someone to really know another?

  21. think about the fact that right now, someone, somewhere, is dying. and other, ....Now. and another.......Now.

and equally, someone, somewhere in the world, is being born. and now, again. and again....now.

at this point Now, at least one of those newborns is dying.

The other day I was pondering the perfect sound of Karen Carpenter's voice and remembering listening to it on my plastic record player when I was 6 years old and how she died very young from not eating enough and her heart gave out.Now it has been all these years later and none else has a voice like hers and I wonder what songs she would have sang that we will not hear.

  24. I have thought about a lot of things but some that I repeat thinking about are

I live in the USA at a time that I needn't hunt nor gather to survive. None of my 5 children died in infancy or childhood. I have all of the intellectual stimulation that I could ask for and a long life expectancy.

Then think of any point in history and imagine a person in a similar social standing. They too were at the pinnacle of human evolution and had much to be thankful for in the context of history!

  28. Here are some perplexing questions worth pondering::

Why do youth delinquency and crimes never seem to be reduced, year by year?

Why do thousands of shrieking and crying young girls chase and mob some musical bands, like The Beatles, risking life and limbs?

Where is society heading with the young focussed on flashy gadgets, computer games, more daring ways of dressing, and going into p**n careers?

Would a month's holiday on our Moon, 20 yrs from today,  be an amazing experience of weightlessness and hopping right up to your 2nd level hotel room effortlessly as the gravity is 6x less than on Earth?

What is it that keeps the electrons of the atom moving constantly around the nucleus, just like the planets going around the sun?

What are the ultimate factors and characteristics that would make two persons trust and love each other completely?

In the next 50yrs will technology be so advanced that every gadget and machine will shrink 5-10x smaller, even a foldable and portable three wheeler machine we ride to work?

In the next 50 yrs, will 50% of humanity pursue home-schooling and work from home, widespread inter-racial marriages and men be allowed to marry two wives for economic reasons and scarcity of young men who are always involved in horrific wars?

  29. You could try this.  What is it that you really want out of life?

I mean every single detail.  Make a list and update it as often as possible.  For example, you can`t want a good car.  It has to have a year, model, color, upholstering, number of doors, size of engine, automatic or standard transmission, etc. etc.

Whatever you can think of or find, get more details.  If it is a mate, get picky, the pickier the better.  Here names are no good.  Better if it is someone just like so-and-so, but with this or that just a bit better, with a lot of money or mid or poor.  Details!  Later on is too late to try to change stuff in a pleasant way, so do it now.  Not only Prince Charming or the Queen of the Ball but what color horse or carriage you want them to appear in.  I`m not kidding.  The wackier your dream the more fun you will have when they come a-knockin`.

When I learned this lesson, it did blow my mind and got me out of a dangerous territory.  Cheers!  And thanks for the question!

  30. consider this, the world at large , what we perceive as the world is only a description of the world one that has been taught to you from the moment of birth by everyone who comes in contact with you. this description is only one of an infinite number of possible descriptions.

Consider this, the world is not as concrete or as 'out there' as you have been led to believe.

  31. I like your question.

I did a SEARCH FOR QUESTION and this is "What is Philosophy".  The full answer is in the link below and here is the bottom line to the best answer chosen by the asker named.

The poster "You Ask & I Answer" asked "What is Philosophy...?  He chose "Jack" who said  "...philosophy is just a pursuit or love for wisdom....typical philosophy is categorized into Metaphysics (theory of being,) Epistemology (theory of knowledge,) and Axiology (theory of value.) Generally, you'll find that most subjects in philosophy reduce to one of these general categories."

The poster rated this answer 5 stars with this comment "Thank you. Your response was very enlightening and thought provoking. I appreciate your taking the time to respond. "  I liked the poster's defnition of philosophy as well as Jack's.

For me my philosophical question to myself falls into the category of Epistemology (theory of knowledge).  And that is this.

If man's has knowledge that he has the intelligence to learn.

Why does he have this abiltiy to learn knowledge?

And if he has this knowledge then what knowledge is the greatest one that is the truth for all man that he should believe in and live by?

And the biggest question of all

Is there a knowledge and truth that existed before man and the universe existed, and that man did not create, that is the greatest knowledge of all?

And if that knowledge is the truth, why don't men believe it or live by it?

    Take care.
