  1. The new Cobra UFI irons may have the strongest lofts of any irons I have seen.

  2. callaway , hogans , adams  , taylor made . definatly cobra has gone super low , have compared  older hogan to new callaway hogans  my eight iron has a shorter shaft than pitiching wedge  , from new set  . had to pull driver  , replace 3 wood . stick 5 wedges in . why do people want a 140 yard wedge is beyond me . this distance thing is a ploy to sell wedges , hibirds , incresing price by 5 clubs . it is getting out of control . thanks for letting old guy babble

  3. to make the shot you need to make at a certain hole , if your in a trap you need a sand wedge of course with tons of lift you got to get out and they are set accordingly to most pro's own spec's in today's golf game. i had my Ping clubs made especially for me in Rhode Island according to my height ,weight swing and ..etc it was all computerized, cost big bucks but it was well worth it now i can regularly shoot high 70's -81 and i don't play like i used to if i did i could shoot in the 70's consistently ....good luck

  4. Most callaway irons are a little stronger than most. You can typically check the specs on the company's website to determine their lofts. You can also get most irons bent, to get the desired loft.

  5. all the newer irons are stronger than "normal" a pw is what an 8i use to be.

  6. With new irons especially the game improvement irons and with some shafts the launch of the ball is been higher due to changes in the center of gravity of the club head. An extreme example of this is the Cleveland HiBore iron set.

Does not really matter whether it is loft or COG or shaft kick that creates trajectory. What matters is distance control and spin control. All this has to be matched up with the golfer's swing.

Stock lofts on retail sets are not always what the are to be supposed to be off the rack. If your distance gaps between irons are bad get them checked. Could be either lofts or shafts need to be splined.

  7. most cobras and callaways are  2 or 3 degrees strong. you can always get your irons bent a few degrees strong if you can't find what you want
