What are some jobs that I can get?

Here are some info about me...

- 4 yrs expr. as a receptionist: microsoft office, switchboard, and general office duties

- people person

- very organized

- High School Diploma

- 23 yrs old

- Good customer service skills

- love art and desing..specially interior design

I want to attend college..but I'm just not good at school and wanted to know if there were any good jobs that won't require a degree. Or maybe even a training program that will give me some more skills. Thanks.

  1. For general career info:  http://www.bls.gov/oco and can search 'administrative assistants and secretaries', 'receptionists and information clerks', 'interior designers' (though usually need college).

    If deciding to attend vocational training, please forgo those private $$ schools and instead look into the county vo-tech school or community college (perhaps non-credit course).


  2. I would think you'd be a good candidate for an Administrative Assistant or a Marketing Assistant.  Even though you don't like school, you should try to find a way to pick up some Adobe software (InDesign or Photoshop) training, which might help you use that creative drive.

    Speaking from experience, it's hard to get into anything more advanced (on the creative side) without at least an associates degree.  I just finished my AAB in Graphic Design and now everyone wants at least a Bachelor's. (*sigh*)
