Sales or customer service type jobs can be used to build social skills and confidence. I had best success increasing my social skills and confidence while working a front desk at an office. About 80% of the job was answering phones or emails so I could practice being social and confident without the person knowing who I was (this helped me be more comfortable). For the people who came into the office, I usually just greeted them and directed them where they needed to go. It was a good start for a shy introvert.
