  1. try your YMCA, but also call your schools and group homes. the police office might be some help to.

  2. The first thing you should do is to ask yourself which aspect of the youth's life do you want to deal with. A youth's life is something complicated and wide.

I don't know how open you are with this but I hope it can do something for you. You can join the FPOP if you are searching a work for the youth. One of its focuses is to serve the needs of today's youths which are usually neglected by the society especially their emotions and sexuality.

  3. Which community?  Each one has different resources.

www.ymca.net has summer programs for kids, preschools, and teen centers

    www.scouting.org works with boys/teens/young adults

www.girlscouts.org works with girls of all ages

Many non-profits do as well which you can find in your area on www.craigslist.org under non-profits in the job sector

www.nhsa.org provides preschool and parenting programs through the government

These are sites that generally exist in all major cities in the US.  But there are variations depending on your city and county.  Other places to look would be libraries (afterschool literacy programs for kids and parents), adult education centers (helping teen parents finish HS, usually has daycare), Ronald McDonald houses (providing a place to stay during a child's surgery), etc.....

  4. Group homes..childrens homes..they are everywhere..treatment centers..like a live in place for kids who get in trouble one is Normative Services Inc..just to give you an idea.
