I would do labor work but i do that now. Im not making enough cause we dont have work often and my mom can't buy me everything that I want. I think making my own money would also help me in the long run with responsibity and discipline

Thanks

  1. It depends on your area and what the companies have set for policies on this. My 15 year old daughter just got a job at Perkins. She asked around at many different places, and most wanted someone at least 16.

Restaurants are good places to check. You can also try some small businesses to do some office work (answer phones, filing paperwork, etc.). Just call around to different companies in your area and ask. No harm in that.

You also would want to check with your state's Department of Labor for any restrictions on what type of work you are allowed to do now, and what type of work you can do at 16. This can help you limit what companies you contact. For example, if the law says you can't work retail until you are 16, you can rule out the local convenience store.

  2. Every state has different child labor law. Try the Department of labor for yours under child labor

  3. I do not know how it is in your state, but I began working in Georgia when I was 15.  I began as a bagger at a local grocery store and eventually moved up to work in produce and the meat department.
