The Navy's medical team - Navy Corpsman - is with a marine detachment, but what other types of jobs within the Navy could one follow if they wanted to see action (outside of the USA and the ships)?

  1. Navy SEALs

  2. SEALs

  3. FMF Corpsman

    Seabees

    Seals

    EOD

Linguists may face some combat based on how they are used

Supply Dept when running convoys and supplies in.out but these are mainly contractors right now.

  4. Beachmaster.

  5. you have the medical corpmen with the marines and the seals

you have swcc with is on a bout but still pretty hard core

    you have EOD

you have the IA working with the army

you have this new expiditionary thing im not to educated on it but they are in the ground

that might be all of it

o and im sure you know about the SEALs

  6. not sure the name, but i saw a navy unit that wasn't eod running convoys in b-dad.  so they are there.  they also had mraps.  sorry, all i know...

  7. Navy Commands under Naval Special Warfare Command (NSW): SEAL, SWCC (Special Warfare Combatant-craft Crewmen) , SDVT (Seal Delivery Vehicle Team).

Navy Commands under Naval Expeditionary Combat Command (NECC): Navy EOD, Navy Diver (ND), Maritime Expeditionary Security Force (MESF), Combat Camera, Naval Construction Battalion (SeaBee), NECC-trainning, logistic, & intel.

Hospital Corpsman FMF- attached to USMC & other Individual Augmentees ( IA ).

All of these personnel (except SeaBees) will probably see inside of the ships at one time or another, but not a whole lot (except for SWCC, SDVT, ND & MESF) for the most parts. We are in the Navy after all.

These are just in general, it doesn't mean that any of these people will actually engage in combat. Many SEAL will never get into firefight through out their career. Most SEAL missions need stealth, not brute force.

I notice that your screenname is "future SEAL," are you that confident? Go earn the Trident.

  8. Other than Navy SEALs I don't know of any.  I do know that about 500 sailors guarded a prison in Iraq for about a year but they didn't see any action.  (They also closed the prison.)

  9. EOD

    Corpsman

    Seabeas

    Master at arms. (MP)

    Seals

  10. Seabees,
