  1. I wouldn't want to scare you with such a huge list (you might think that the earth is desperate, though hope is there) so here's some in general.

    1. Global Warming.

    2. Wildlife conservation efforts.

    3. Plausible energy sources (which of the many options will really help the both economy and the environment?)

    4. Green revolution versus organic farming.

    5. Pollution.

Odd-numbered items here are somewhat related.

I suggest going to The Economist's website. There are excellent resources for environmental issues there.

  2. The country needs to begin having an "honest" conversation about the "costs and consequences" of ethanol regulations.

While most people are focusing on rising gas prices, world food prices are also soaring -- and those soaring prices are having a "devastating" effect on people.

Many people are now going hungry; and while there are a lot of reasons for the rising cost of food, ethanol mandates are a part of that and it is something that the Greenies need to think seriously about changing.

Reports suggests that bio-fuel production contributes to about one-third of the rising cost of food. As farmers switch crops in order to grow more corn for bio-fuel, that has a negative impact on the price of wheat and other grains. And the excess corn production does not enter the food market.

  3. How to keep the UN and gore out of the little that is left of our pay checks, is the big one for me.

  4. 1. Climate change — Global warming • Fossil fuels • Sea level rise • Effects of the automobile on societies

    2. Conservation — Genetic erosion • Holocene extinction event • Invasive species • Species extinction • Habitat destruction • Habitat fragmentation • Pollinator decline • Coral bleaching • Whaling

    3. Dams - Environmental impacts of dams

    4. Energy - Energy conservation • Renewable energy • Efficient energy use • Renewable energy commercialization

    5. Genetic engineering — Genetic pollution

    6. Intensive farming — Overgrazing • Irrigation • Monoculture

    7. Land degradation — Land pollution • Desertification

Soil — Soil conservation • Soil erosion • Soil contamination • Soil salination

    8. Nanotechnology — Nanotoxicology • Nanopollution

    9. Nuclear issues — Nuclear fallout • Nuclear meltdown • Nuclear power

    10. Overpopulation — Burial

    11. Ozone depletion

    12. Pollution — Air pollution • Light pollution • Noise pollution • Thermal pollution

Water pollution — Acid rain • Eutrophication• Ocean dumping • Oil spills • Water crisis

    13. Resource depletion — Exploitation of natural resources

Fishing — Blast fishing • Bottom trawling • Cyanide fishing • Ghost nets • Illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing • Environmental effects of fishing • Overfishing

Logging — Clearcutting • Deforestation • Illegal logging

    Mining — Acid mine drainage

    14. Toxins — Chlorofluorocarbons • DDT • Dioxin • Heavy metals • Herbicides • Pesticides • Toxics use reduction • Toxic waste

    15. Urban sprawl

    15. Waste — Waste disposal incidents

  5. Here are a bunch that I came up with.   It may include some that others have already put down...

    World leaders' attitudes

    Degradation of natural resources

    Global warming

    Population

    Over fishing

    Endangered species

    Habitat loss

    Deforestation

    Nuclear waste

    Nuclear refinement

    Ozone depletion

    Bad air quality

    Invasive species

    Genetic engineering (super weeds)

    Soil depletion

    Deforestation

    Thermal pollution

    Overgrazing

    E-waste

    Coral reef bleaching

    Bottom trawling

    Poaching

    Illegal dumping

    Hazardous materials

    Urban sprawl

    Dependence on cars

    Sea level rise

    Diseases

    Sewage

    Acid rain

  6. 1. Global warming

    2. gas. we need something that is good for the environment.

    3. rain forest

    4. oceans

    5. driving cars

  7. Some key environmental  issues are:

    1. global warming,

    2. natural disasters,

    3. less fuel when more is needed,

just to name a few, but i would try searching on google " what are the problems in today's enviorment " you might get some answers that way as well.

  8. I believe a major one that you should research is the effects of corn ethanol. It has global implications even though its only American who is heavily pursuing this technology. Good luck with your study.
