  1. Patience.  Don't play crappy hands... which is just about every hand you are dealt.

  2. Key Tells -

-Someone acting weak usually means strong and vice versa

-Someone acting disinterested in the hand still holding his cards more than likely has a strong hand

-Someone in a hurry to bet or bets out of turn usually has a good hand

-Someone placing his bet in your direction is usually trying to look aggressive with a weak holding

-Someone trying to stare you down to intimidate you usually has a weak holding

-Someone blinking more than normal is normally a sign of a bluff

-Overbetting the pot against 1 or 2 opponents on a non-coordinated board (not paired, no straight or flush draws) is a good chance that it's a bluff.

Just a few tidbits, remember every situation is different and you need to have a decent read on the player to be able to use these reads during a hand.

    Good luck at the tables!

  3. There are certain mannerisms and games of the mind one can learn with experience that can turn a player's tells into bluffs. I am a dollar ante player with the gang, but I am good.
