  1. Depending on where you live in the country, there are plenty of landmarks.  You can find volcanoes through out the country, so depending on what region you are in, you can guide yourself by the volcanoes.

In La Libertad, el muelle de La Libertad (the La Libertad pier) is itself a landmark.

If in the east side of the country, El Rio Lempa, Bahia de Jiquilisco, and many of the islands could be considered landmarks.

Many of the Mayan ruins including Tazumal and Joya de Ceren are difinitely landmarks.

And yes, the statue of El Salvador de El Mundo in San Salvador is a prominent landmark.

  2. Well if youre in San Salvador its "El Volcan de San Salvador" or the volcano of San Salvador in English, you cant miss it. Its right to the side of the city. If your looking for a man made landmark "El Salvador del Mundo" or in English The Savior of the World. Its a man made statue of Jesus Christ towards the center of the city.
