  1. 1) People will run into you right and left. French people simply don't look where they're going, and they depend on other people not to bump into them.

    2) People stare at you a great deal, no matter how unremarkable you may be. I've never understood this but they do. Pay no attention as no one means you any harm.

    3) When you pay for something the person taking your money expects you to put it down, rather than taking it directly from your hand. Most places have a sort of tray on the counter expressly for this purpose.

    4) When you're in a theater and have to go by someone to get to your seat always pass in front of them facing toward them, that is, away from the screen or the stage. It's very rude otherwise.

  2. some people kiss 3 times on each cheek... always kiss good mornig and good night... always  speak and greet you when you enter shops

  3. Also when going up or down escalators...make sure you do not stand! They don't, they go up and down them like stairs and will be mad if you stand on them.

  4. How funny to see our customs by American people ! I know some are true - I don't always know if it is or not !

We kiss on the cheeks 3 times in the South, but elsewhere it's 2 times and in the very North 4 times !

As a French girl it's difficult for me to answer you for I don't know what customs are "typically french". Sorry... For attitudes see www.cestsoparis.com ; that's not wrong. For general info see http://french.about.com/cs/culture/a/rud...

  5. Apart from kissing, lol they love to have their pre-diner drinks (Aperitif's) for almost hours, talking endless and the same for their delicious food.
