What are some long term solutions to global warming (things countries can do)?

I need to know some long-term solutions or ways to curb global warming that countries can do.

  2. Put restrictions on cars and trucks that are allowed to drive on the roads: have a minimum gas mileage requirement that is reasonable, and have lower emissions standards.

    Something the U.S. did for acid rain was to limit the total amount of Sulfur companies could put in the air. if the U.S. was to actually create and put into affect the same type of system (there's more to it than i explained) that would lower CO2

    having the US sign and committ to the Kyoto Protocol would be nice too

  3. subsidise public transport, tax nonn public etc, bonuses for car pooling. flood money into alterniative fuels rather than a f***in war!!

  4. Provide major prioritization of, and funding for, initiatives to change the way people power their lives and the production of their goods.  Share these initiatives with poorer countries that can't make it happen on their own.  Make it a real and global policy priority, higher even than short-term economic growth.
