I'm visiting Vancouver for the first time and would like to try some great restaurants (I'm a foodie). Nothing too fancy. Sushi, fish, steak, breakfast, etc. Thanks for recommendations!

  1. Bishop's is great!  It's on 2183 West 4th Ave.

EatSleepGo has all the recently reviewed restaurants  (by Gourmet and FOod and Wine, and other periodicals) and hotels on its website - very handy.

  2. If you like being a little adventurous a few great restaurants are "Guu with Garlic" on Robson St.  "Happa Izakaya" on Robson St.  Both Japanese restaurants.

  3. Not sure if it still exists, but there used to be a terrific, fantastic place in North Van called "The Hobbit House"  it had a wonderful atmosphere and food like trout, etc.  Also, the Olde Spaghetti Factory in Gastown was always good.

  4. The Bella Casa Restaurant

  5. I like to eat a wide variety of food myself..these are a couple of my favourite places:

For Greek, I could recommend several places, but one good one is:

Anatoli Souvlaki, 5 Lonsdale Ave., North Vancouver, 604-985-9853

For the most incredible fish and chips - brought out to you the old fashioned way in newspaper:

Cockney Kings Fish & Chips, 1005 COLUMBIA ST, NEW WESTMINSTER, BC, 604-522-6099

For a tremendous helping of pasta (nothing like bringing home leftovers for lunch *grin*), try:

    Anducci's, 9604 Cameron Street, Burnaby, BC, 604-444-4788

Hopefully this was a helpful anwser to you...

  6. a great place is Brother John's in Gas town

  7. The Havanna on Commercial Drive is excellent.  Many restaurants on the Drive are really good.  There is a diverse selection there as well.  Great seafood I would suggest Joe Fortes Restaurant or the Cannery.  The Boathouse down at English Bay is really good as well.  If you are looking for some exotic flavours try out the Banana Leaf on W. Broadway.  Hope this helps.
