Every staition is independently owned usually buy that city giving them sole naming rights the trains lease that space just like airports rent space to airliners

You can use Greyhound. They have discounts for buying tickets ahead of time.

Most train stations here in the Northeast US are named for the town that they service. Only the main terminals seem to have certain names, such as the Newark and New York Penn Stations. There are a lot of passenger and commuter rail companies out there. Are you looking for certain ones in certain areas? Here in NJ we have NJ Transit and PATCO, Southeast PA has SEPTA and New York has the MTA. As for the type of trains, you're on your own!
