  1. I've never seen a headache patient without a screwed up neck. Often due to an old injury but can also come from stress.

The only thing I've ever seen work long term is upper cervical Chiropractic care.  Good luck.

  2. Sometimes headaches are caused by dehydration of the cells so drinking water is the first thing you should try.  Application of cold pack to the area often helps, too.

  3. A headache can have many causes, allergic reactions, stress and tension in the muscles from mental stress or physical stress and hard work.

Headaches often start in the muscles of the neck, midback on up, jaws (especially if you grind your teeth in the night), facial muscles and sinuses.

To relieve the pain, if you do not use pain relievers, then try the following. Hot and very cold compresses, switch them back and forth every 10 minutes, it shocks the muscles that are aching and relaxes them, relieving pain. Sleep helps, if you can fall asleep. Getting someone to give your shoulders, arms, neck and face a massage can help immensely.

Otherwise, use Excedrin for Migraine, or 2 Advil and one Bayer aspirin in combination. Either works very well.

  4. Other remedies:  1)  Lavender essential oil rubbed on the temples;  2)  White willow bark (Salix species) which is the plant aspirin was originally gathered from;  3)  Feverfew, especially if it's a migraine headache;  4)  Check to eliminate the following:  a)  Some people, especially those w/ high fire in their constitution, will get a headache if they are hungry;  b)  I agree with the point about being thirsty, and adding the juice of a fresh organic lemon or lime to your water can only help a headache in my experience.  c)  Some people experience headaches if they are on the computer or under UV light too long; d)  Some people have dietary triggers for their headaches such as red wine, dark chocolate, high fat, coffee and other caffeine-containing beverages; e)  As headaches can be caused by poor circulation or consticted blood vessels, you may find anti-spasmodic herbs such as scullcap help immensely; f)  If your headaches appear mostly behind your eyes and in the center of your face between your brows, suspect liver/gall bladder stagnation and severely check your consumption of deep fried, fatty, oily, greasy foods like french fries, chips, oily salad dressings and mayo.  Check your consumption of dark chocolate (heats and tightens gall bladder) and coffee, as mentioned above.  Chiropractic adjustments and changing my diet to include lots more salads, lemon and light foods, like steamed veggies helped me immeasurably.  Sometimes women w/ no former hx of gall bladder complaints will find it acts up during or more usually, after pregnancy, so check into this as well.  If your left elbow is stiff or hurting and pain seems to be radiating up and down your left arm, this is not always a heart attack.  It can be your gall bladder as well.  There are also many, many homeopathic remedies that will help with headache.  Coffea cruda is a common one, as is arsenicum album.  Do not just take these blindly however, as homeopathic remedies are specific to the symptom profile, not just something to take like aspirin.

  6. A temporary relieving solution is to press on the fleshy part between your thumb and forefinger, particularly on the dorsal (non-palmar) side of the palm.  In acupuncture/acupressure this corresponds to Large Intestine 4 or chinese name Hegu.

You can google it to be sure.

  7. Reducing your refined sugar intake might perhaps help as table sugar can cause headaches.  See item 71 in http://www.rheumatic.org/sugar.htm .

  8. do you have a headache

  9. peppermint oil can help.

  10. My herbal drink is very good for migraine.  I used to have migraine and it disappeared when I started drinking it.  It has made my mother-in-law recover from her arthritis.  It is like a cure-all for many ailments.  My friends who tried it recovered from their asthma and diabetes problems.  It is comprised of 5 power herbs.  The most powerful herb, moringa, is even known to cure cancer.  Search the web for Moringa and you’ll know what I mean.
