  1. Chiropractic! It helped me and I've seen it help hundreds of people.

  2. Quit drinking caffeine!  Drink plenty of fluids and take vitamins daily!

  3. this wont cure it but it will help a little.....breathe deep and slow.  it puts more oxygen in your system and in your blood and in your brain. and dont smoke when having a migraine, it denys oxygen to the brain.  I learned that the hard way thinking that smoking a substance that usually helps with pain will help with a migrain.....nope....it gets worse.

  4. Chiropractic has been the only thing I have seen work long time.  It takes a couple months but you can seriously reduce the frequency and severity with 8-12 treatments!  Bes luck.

  5. Try tapping www.tapping.com

    Or acupuncture

  6. For treating symptoms:

Feverfew will help the pain, ginkgo biloba aids circulation and can reduce sensitivity to light and sound, peppermint will help with the nausea.

    At the onset:

Take lecithin (between 3 and 6 1,200 mg capsules ) at the first sign of a migraine- it lessens both length and severity of the headache.

Inhale essential oil of lavender at the beginning of a migraine- this also can lessen pain and duration.

    To prevent occurrences:

Avoid avocados, aged meats, chocolate, MSG, nitrites, canned fish, alcohol and dairy products.

  7. Feverfew is good.

  8. Everything which relaxes, e.g. magnesium, potassium, valeriana, St. John's wort, melissa.

  9. Lots of water.   Chamomile tea is very relaxing. Try mental exercises, like lying on your back in a relaxed mode and closing your eyes,  beginning from your toes, simply say in your mind, "toes  relax," "foot relax", ankles, ect. until you get to your head.  You may very well fall asleep before you have finished.   You may think this funny or a joke, but it does work.  Try it and let me know the result.

  10. I take a combination of feverfew & butterbur as a preventive. I use to take Topamax but it gave me bad side effects.

Caffeine can help if you have a migraine, otherwise ice helps. Herbals really dont work when youre in the middle of a headache, only as preventives.

  11. I have a three techniques that usually relieve my headaches pretty quickly:

    1) a gradual cold shower at around 20 degrees Celsius.

    2) Cold face immersion:

Pour a vat of cold water that is around 12 degrees Celsius. This is between very cold and painfully cold water. Take a deep breath and submerge your face and half of the head (hold the head horizontally) in water. Turn your head slightly from side to side to improve cooling. Remove your face from the cold water after 10-15 seconds or sooner if cold water starts to cause pain in the facial skin.

Wait 30 to 120 seconds. Repeat the procedure 5 to 7 more times. You can do it all day if necessary but 7-8 immersions will usually reduce headache substantially and you will be pain-free for the next 1 to 2 hours. If the headache comes back after 1-2 hours, repeat the session.

    3) Complete colon cleansing. Bacteria living in intestines may release some vasodilatory agents and if these are constantly absorbed into the bloodstream, they may cause chronic unending headaches (this is related to the ancient autointoxication theory). A recent poll of people who use colon hydrotherapy on a regular basis revealed that many of them use it to relieve headaches (see one of the references below).

  12. Any vasoconstrictor. Caffeine can work for that.

  13. Sleep!!! It's about the only thing that works for me!
