Are there any towns, parks, etc to see? I read about hopewell rocks and fundy trail parkway, and they both seemed cool. Has anyone been there? I'm looking for possible vacation sites, so I'd appreciate the advice.

Thanks!

  1. I would go check out Cape Breton.. it's on the northern part of nova scotia..

while there you have to drive the cabot trail it's awesome

Its like driving in a video game

  2. Prince Edward Island is beautiful!

I went there for my birthday two years ago and it was amazing.  Cavendish beach is great but generally anywhere is nice and everyone is friendly.

  3. Niagra falls was pretty , maine is a pretty state also.

There's so much to see in the eastern sea board .

  4. Heh, Niagara Falls is a long drive from the East Coast...

But yeah, I happen to live in New Brunswick, and I've travelled the maritime provinces a bit.

One of my favorite provincial parks is Mt. Carleton, which has the highest mountain in the Maritime provinces. There are several other mountains to climb, but Mt. Carleton itself has one of the better views. You can see for miles away, and not a hint of a village or city. Just nature, as far as the eye can see.

You could also check out Hopewell Rocks, in the south of NB. Beautiful place, but make sure you read the signs about how fast the tide can rise.

For some culture, check out "Le village Acadien" (The Acadian Village) on the North-East coast of NB for some Acadian-French heritage, and King's Landing near Fredericton for some English settlement history.

If you do go see Le village Acadian, make sure to drive through a little town called Petit Rocher, where they have a beautiful beach filled with driftwood of all shapes.

Also, if you are driving, you will probably be on the Trans-Canada highway at some point. You might want to make a stop in Grand Falls to have a break, see the falls, and maybe even visit the gorge.

    But that's NB.

If you have time, try going around Prince Edward Island for fantastic beaches, and parts of the southern coast of Nova Scotia for a real scenic treat.

There is so much more, but those tend to be among the more popular ones...
