What are some new "modern" names for babies?

boys or girls. i'm not planning on having a baby just yet, but i'm just curious about what are some of the new names out there.... just to get an idea for when i am ready. I love the name Aiden for a boy.. maybe there are other ways to spell that... and Nevaeh for a girl.... but what are some other cute name ideas or even just different ways of spelling names.

its hard to find modern names that aren't just ridiculous and trying to be different.

if you are trying to get some original nameage though, try naming a girl a "modern" boy name, like Ryleigh for a girl, instead of Riley for a boy. or Robyn for a girl...or Trystin for a girl.

for a boy, try something like Orion, or Archer...Hunter is one that is rarely used for some reason, although it is a fantastic name. you could even transform hunter into a girls name for a twist by just playing with the spelling.

i think the names that have been well-liked and modern at the same time...in the past, were names that were originally boy names that transformed into girl names with the spelling. or names that are really old and unused but still classic sounding. or mythological or culturally significant names like Apollo or Luther. if this one was a boy i was thinking of naming him Elwood or Forrest, both older names, not necessarily modern, but never used and so they sound original.

Aiden is so over used right now it's not funny and don't even think of going with Nevaeh, that's just AWFUL!  Glad to hear you still have time to think about your choices!

i like the name Aiden.. i was working with a movie that the main character is named that. It's called "Still Here." For a girl i like that name too, i also like shayla and jasmine.

Those are both hideous.

Kre8tyv spellings are awful; spelling Jessica as Gesykahh does not make the name unique - it just looks like the mother hasn't passed the first grade.

Avoid the aden trend if you want your kid to have any semblance of individuality. Same goes for the suffixes -tyn, -lyn, -lee, and -den; and the prefix ash-, amber-, emma-, isa-, and bri-.

Please don't procreate until you're out of secondary school.

You must be kidding! I do like Aiden and the variations even if other people hate them, but Nevaeh? No way. Someone else on here actually asked about Traeh, heart backwards. Guess that is the new Nevaeh.

Wow haha nice vid. Is that really your brother? And btw I love numa numa. It's so awesome! As far as your question goes you can spell Aiden lots of ways, like Aedan, Ayden, Aaden, or Aydin. Some modern names are Caden, Brayden, Jayden, Hayden, Grace, Lily, and Madelyn. Hope this helps.

Do you mean modern over-used names? If so then there's:

Cayden, Logan, Hunter, Austin, Greyson, Chase, etc.

Kenzie, using a boy's name as a girl's name -- like Rory, etc.
