Question:

What are some nice, safe, but especialy cheap places to live in England that have a good university near by?

in 2009 i will hopefully move to england to study and i am trying to find a good university in a cheap safe town but i havent fund any good information on the web. if you guys could help me i would truly apreciate it! and if you could refer me to some web sites with info i would greatly apreciate it.

  1. make a list of what unis do what subjects you want to study, then you can narrow it down from that.  There's not much point in recommending towns with unis if they don't do the courses you want.  

    For cheap, you might have to go north or maybe west.  I used to live in Cambridge which is quite a safe city, but expensive.  Good place to live though.


  2. Not sure where you are planning on moving from but the UK just isn't cheap (unless you live in Moscow right now!)

    The previous answer is bang on. Work out what courses/subjects you want to study and then go from there. You could then ask the question which of the towns would be cheapest.

  3. Don't know, precisely, what you mean by good info' (or good uni, for that matter) but the following should be somewhat helpful.   My preference would be Scotland instead of England.  I lived in U.K. for ten years and found the natives friendlier north of the border.
