  1. Coolengata is great

Clean beaches, it's warm, good sushi place, Baskin Robins and warm water.

  2. lol none unless you go Wynnum or Manley but you need to be water front for that to be nice, I'm with Rec go the Sunny Coast instead!

  3. That's going to be a bit tricky! The nearest decent beaches are on Bribie Island to the north and the northern part of the Gold Coast to the south. The bayside beaches like Redcliffe, Wynnum and Manly have no surf and are nothing like the surf beaches even in terms of sand and water clarity, let alone waves and once you get away from the actual waterfront, the suburbs are not really up to scratch.

  4. Go to Hervey Bay and check out Fraser Island as well. Went there a couple of years ago, saw loads of whales...

  5. oh you should move to the sunshine coast instead

  6. No beach places between Brisbane and the Gold Coast. Coastal areas but not good beaches. From getting on the motorway from Helensvale it will take you just under an hour if you get a good run to Brisbane longer at peak times the motorway can get quite congested at peak times. The train takes 1 hour from helensvale. The further from the coast the hotter in Summer, no coastal breeze also colder in winter further back from the Coast. If you do want near the beautiful Gold Coast beaches and handy to the motorway i would suggest around Labrador Biggera waters .Hope Island and Sanctuary cove very nice but  more expensive. I believe you should get plenty of rental accommodation around Coomera area closer to dream world Movie world wet'n wild. As many new homes have been built there over the last few years that would be about 45 min drive to brisbane

  7. You could also live on Stradbroke Island it has surf beaches but like most people have said you will be more than 45 minutes away. You'd be looking at 15 minutes to get to Cleveland by ferry and another 45 by train to the city. I'd like to know whats wrong with the suburbs near Manly, Wynnum and Redcliffe as claimed by ozmaniac

  8. Sunshine Coast.
